Essay写作的观点主要难题是Essay所研究的类型，它决定着你用以支持观点的论证的类型。所以，你在汇集论证的要素时，应该要很清楚地表达你要支持的观点是概念性的，还是实际性的。如果你解答的是一个概念性的问题而你想指出它的实际应用，那么，先为概念性问题提出你的论证，然后等到结论时才讨论它的实际应用，提供一些值得读者进一步思考的东西。
换位评价Essay中的观点
学生在完成Essay的时候，无法告诉导师如何找到自己的观点或检验它的真实性，除非检验支持Essay的论证。当然还有一种方法可以帮助你即你站在导师的角度大致评价你的观点。你可以问自己两个问题：第一，Essay的观点明确吗？第二，Essay的观点具有重意义吗？特别是对于比较资深级别的导师，你可以从你的观点对所属研究对象的思维撼动程度，来评价Essay的重要意义。
