A study by Cogiamanian and colleagues (2011) investigated the effects of anodal tsDCS on the lower-limb polysynaptic flexion reflex components, RII tactile and RIII nociceptive. The LL-Fr was elicited via percutaneous electrical stimuli delivered randomly every 5-20 seconds in a train of 5 electrical pulses at 1ms and 200 Hz to the sural nerve, with surface electrodes applied behind the right lateral malleolus recording responses from the ipsilateral short head of biceps femoris. The H-reflex (Hr) was elicited via bipolar constant current electrical stimuli to the tibial nerve at the popliteal fossa, stimulating the tibial nerve every 10-20 seconds with a current intensity increased in steps of 1 mA to obtain the Hr threshold, maximal Hr, and maximal M-wave from the soleus (Cogamanian et al., 2011).
